This introductory course equips students with essential skills to transform data into meaningful visuals. Starting with fundamental principles and common visualization types, students learn how to match different data types to appropriate visualization techniques. Basic design principles, such as color and layout, are covered to ensure clarity and impact. Students will also gain hands-on experience in cleaning and organizing data for visualization using industry standard tools. The course emphasizes storytelling with data to convey insights effectively and covers how to interpret and evaluate visualizations responsibly, including recognizing potential biases and ethical concerns.
