TURF 1051 - Trees and Shrubs

This course covers the characteristics and identification of deciduous and evergreen trees and shrubs commercially available in the landscaping industry. Particular attention is placed on identification of the plant materials and the classification of these materials according to cultural and landscape use characteristics. A thorough knowledge of native and commercial plant materials is vital background to any horticultural occupation. Pruning, correct site selection, and planting will also be covered.
