ELEC 1062 - Electrical Theory II 6 Credit(s) 4 credits lecture/2 credits lab
This course continues to develop concepts of electricity and alternating current (AC) circuits. Included are studies of magnetic induction; single phase generation; resistance in single phase AC series, parallel, and combination circuits; capacitance in single phase AC series, parallel, and combination circuits; inductance in single phase AC series, parallel, and combination circuits; phase relationships; power quality issues including power factor and harmonics; instrument usage and terminology. This course includes lab time to prove and reinforce learned electrical concepts. Lab time is included to prove and reinforce learned electrical concepts. This course is a component of the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry Electrical ACT Two-year Technical Program Experience Credit Rules.
Course Prerequisite(s): ELEC 1002 and MATH 1400 with a grade of C or better
