HITM 2000 - Healthcare Information and Statistics

This course focuses on managing health information in healthcare facilities that are not hospitals. Topics will cover licensure and regulatory agencies. An introduction to the basic components of the content, use, and structure of healthcare data and data sets are explored, including inferential statistics, sampling, hypothesis testing, probability and inference. The content of the health record, documentation requirements, healthcare data sets, registries and indices are introduced.

Course Prerequisite(s): HITM 1221  and MATH 0801  or appropriate placement score
